Rosario Dawson is an American actor, producer, writer and politcal activist.
Early life
Born as Rosario Isabel Dawson, Rosario Dawson was bnorn on May 9,1979 on New York City, New York. Her mother, Isabel Celeste, is a writer and singer of Puerto Rican and Cuban ancestry; she never married Rosario's biological father, Patrick C.Harris. When Rosario was a year old, her mother married Greg Dawson, a construction worker. Dawson has a half-brother named Clay, who is 4 years younger than Rosario. Isabel and Greg divorced on 2001.
Carrer
Her carrer started on 1995 when she was subsequently discovered by photograher Larry Clark and Harmony Korine and she landed a role on controversial 1995 film, Kids. She got various roles from independent films to blockbuster films, including Rent and He Got Game. On 2002, she got a great big break when she landed a role on 2002 American science fiction action comedy film, Men in Black II as Laura Vasquez. On 2005, she got a role on 2005 neo-neir crime anthology film, Sin City as Gail. On 2010, she portray Persephone on Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. On 2014, she portrayed Gail on the sequel of Sin City entitled Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. She currently portraying Jane Ramos on Jane the Virgin.
Personal life
Dawson and comedian Eric Andre confirmed on February 2017 that they are in a relationship. Rosario shared in September 2017 that she and Andre still together and he supported her during surgery due to ruptured ovarian cyst and internal bleeding. As of November 2017, the couple had separated.
Politics
Dawson was arrested in 2004, while protesting against then-U.S. president George W. Bush.
On 2012, she endorsed Barack Obama for reelection and Bernie Sanders for the nomination for Democratic Party Primaries.
On April 15, 2016. Dawson was among the protestors arrested during Democracy Spring in Washington D.C.
