Darci Factor is a recurring character on Jane the Virgin. She is portrayed by Justina Machado.
Character[]
Darci is a straightforward, no-nonsense woman, who owns and runs a successful matchmaking company and takes on Rogelio as a client. While great at what she does, Darci expresses interest in having a child — with Rogelio, as a non-romantic co-parental unit. Darci is very set on what she wants in life, also in regards to having a child, as she finds love messy and has been hurt before, seeing her reluctant to open her heart again.
Story[]
Darci works as a successful matchmaker and seems to have dedicated herself completely to her work in her life. She is tenacious, talented and ambitious. After meeting Rogelio, who wants to have a child, Darci decides to enter into a non-romantic parenting agreement with him, as she, too, wants a child. This quickly falls through when Rogelio develops feelings for Darci and she asks him to get over it so they can move forward with their plans. He's unable to and convinces Darci that they should date. On their date, Darci is very critical and later reveals to Rogelio that she was hurt before and has a hard time opening herself up for fear of getting hurt, as well as the looming presence of Xiomara. Confiding this in Rogelio allows Darci to consider them earnestly. Simultaneously, Darci sells the concept of a matchmaker falling in love as a reality tv-series, which is greenlit. Rogelio is involved, but Darci wants him to be her co-star. After lashing out at Darci when his scene is cut from his big indie film, Rogelio apologises by agreeing to star in her reality show, entitled The De La Vega-Factor Factor.
