Chapter Eighty-Four is the 3rd episode of Season 5 of Jane the Virgin.
Synopsis[]
LEFT OUT – Jane (Gina Rodriguez) must get over the newest hurdle in her life, which proves to be harder than she and Rafael (Justin Baldoni) would have hoped. Rogelio (Jaime Camil) discovers that he and River (guest star Brooke Shields) are not as equal as he thought. Meanwhile, Jane and Petra (Yael Grobglas) must deal with the children not getting along with each other, which in turn brings up issues of how Petra and Jane feel about each other.

- When Jane stands up in the boat and they fall into the water, Jason tells Jane she can stand as it's four feet, calling back to when Jane fell in the Marbella pool and Rafael jumped in after her, prompting Jane to irritatedly say she could stand as "it's 4 feet, Baywatch!".
- Jane denies having feelings for Jason like she did about those she developed for Rafael back in Season 1. However, Jason makes a move immediately, but Jane angrily says this to his face, reminding him she’s with Rafael, so it’s implied that this time it’s actually true she doesn’t feel anything. Also, when there is physical touch between them while they spend time together alone Jane doesn't feel any 'forbidden spark' or her heart glow, as she did with Rafael.
